Visibility Patrol participants, or “VP’sâ€, are folks who volunteer to be visible at public hearings, rallies or lobby days at the LOB and Capitol as well as locally. Individuals or groups can sit in on hearings with their KTP buttons or tee shirts to show legislators that we are here to stay and speak to legislators about the issues. This helps to keep mental health issues visible during the legislative session.
To get your KTP button, simply call our office at 860-882-0236 or ask the Coordinators for one at an event or hearing. Tee shirts are often awarded to volunteers at the annual award ceremony in the Fall. Be sure to let us know when you have participated in an event so that we can include your name for the Visibility Patrol award at the annual ceremony!
Feel free to contact us with any questions by email or at 860-882-0236.
Keep the Promise will help you coordinate advocacy efforts!
KTP can assist you with the planning and implementation of events, securing KTP blue ribbon buttons, supplying fact sheets, and providing tips to help make your events and experiences successful.
In addition, reimbursement may be available for transportation, child/family care costs and food at our trainings and certain events with prior approval from KTP pending available funds. A reimbursement request form must be filled out and you will be reimbursed after the event. Download the Reimbursement Request Form here.
